The national office of YFU South Africa underwent some changes in July 2009. Administrative matters are now handled by Babs Visser from a new office within walking distance from downtown Cape Town, and Nina Voges (national director) operates from an office in her house. Although we are a predominantly volunteer-driven organization, YFU does have a small office staff component in order to coordinate the functions of the different YFU regions. Furthermore, the office needs to manage the finances of YFU, plan and initiate recruitment drives and serve as the final back-up and support for host families and exchange students alike. Programme-planning, the setting of arrival and departure dates and communication with international YFU partners are also executed by the national office staff.

And in the YFU Regional Office in Pretoria...

Recently, YFU South Africa expanded its services by establishing a regional office in Pretoria. This office, with regional director Rynette Scholtz at the helm, will be managing and co-ordinating YFU programs in the subregions Bloemfontein (volunteer regional head: Joubert van Zyl), Limpopo Province (volunteer regional head: Beatrice Tshabalala) and the Gauteng region.
