The national office of YFU South Africa is situated in the suburb of Bellville, just outside Cape Town. Although we are a predominantly volunteer-driven organization, YFU does have a small national office in order to coordinate the functions of the different YFU regions. Furthermore, the office needs to manage the finances of YFU, plan and initiate recruitment drives and serve as the final back-up and support for host families and exchange students alike. Programme-planning, the setting of arrival and departure dates and communication with international YFU partners are also functions of the office. Nina Voges is the newly appointed national director of YFU South Africa (from January 2008) and Babs Visser the administrative assistant. The national office staff is assisted by interns from time to time.

And in the YFU Regional Office in Pretoria...

Recently, YFU South Africa expanded its services by establishing a regional office in Pretoria. This office, with regional director Rynette Scholtz at the helm, will be managing and co-ordinating YFU programs in the subregions Bloemfontein (volunteer regional head: Joubert van Zyl), Limpopo Province (volunteer regional head: Beatrice Tshabalala) and the Gauteng region.
