YFU'S
EXCHANGE PROGRAMS PROMOTE INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING.
Young
South Africans can go abroad for periods of 6 weeks
to 1 year and international students can experience
South Africa on a variety of programs. Our exchange
programs comply with YFU international basic standards
and are founded on sound educational principles. YFU
students learn from life in another country, another
culture and another language. They learn to face challenges
and how to overcome them. Similarly hostfamilies invite
"the world" into their homes by hosting
YFU exchange students and are also beneficiaries of
our educational goals by learning from their new sons
and daughters about life and customs in countries
far away.

THE WORLD INTO YOUR HOME... by
hosting an international YFU exchange student! YFU South

in our country. Hundreds of South African families have
hosted YFU exchange students since 1994, why don't you
too? YFU recruits hostfamilies regardless of their cultural

YFU
IS PASSIONATE ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR YOUTH. The
junior volunteers of YFU, consisting mostly of former
YFU exchange students (returnees), but also other interested
young people, have recently formed the YFU Junior Volunteer
Council (JVC). The JVC is a nation-wide body with its
own mission statement and constitution, and has representation
on the national Board of YFU. For more information on
the JVC, click on the JVC website link to the left. |
